Model 1903 rifle manufactured in March 1918. All parts are period correct including the hand guard. Smooth metal with 80%+ finish. Original barrel, the stock is in very good condition with sharp finger grooves. There is a repaired crack near the cartouche area. A very presentable example of a World War I model 1903 Springfield. The bad news. This is a drill rifle, there is no visible welding on the rifle however there is a small hole drilled through the barrel as pictured. Additionally the bolt is welded to the underside of the receiver also pictured. Bummer. Even though it’s been rendered inoperable a federal firearms license is still required.
