Winchester made M1 rifle stock set. The stock has no cracks, no rebuild markings, and no repairs, a rack number is stamped on the right side on the edge of the stock.. A minimum number of dings, dents, and bruises. Sharp edges to the pistol grip. The bottom edge of the crossed cannons and boxed cartouche are sharp and easily visible. The top portion of the box cartouche is difficult to see however the WRA can be made out. The firing proof is clear and distinct. There is a blackened area on the rear edge of the stock at the heel and descending on either side approximately halfway. This looks like ancient surface charring, the cause of which is unknown. A set of closely matching hand guards is included. With the exception of the charring at the back of the stock this is a very nice example of a short channel Winchester stock.
