As a result of running out of original carbines, in 1926 the Director of Civilian Marksmanship offered NRA members Krag carbines using original stocks and cut down barrels. The barrels were cut to carbine length of 22 inches, expertly crowned and a new model 1903 front sight installed. This conversion was done at Benecia Arsenal, California. Offered here is the barrel and stripped receiver of one of these carbines. Very good condition with over 70% of finish, the bore is fair to good. The receiver was manufactured after 1898 and is considered a modern gun. A federal firearms license is required, sorry not eligible on a curio and relic license.
