Model 1891 Mauser rifle manufactured by DWM for the Argentine Army in 1896. The bulk of these rifles were initially manufactured by Ludwig Loewe &Company , Berlin. Deutshe Waffen-und Munitionsfabriken [DWM] manufactured a small number in the middle 1890s. Caliber 7.9x57mm. The barrel is serial numberd to the receiver , the bolt and stock are mismatched. There are 2 two inch cracks behind the receiver tang, a faint Argentine crest is on the receiver ring. This crest was ground off on the vast majority of model 1891 rifles before they were imported. The side of the exposed part of the barrel is marked with an import stamp. An original sling is included. This rifle is an antique, proof of age is required for purchase.
