Early Rock Island model 1903 rifle. Interesting rifle, all parts appear to be pre-1919 vintage. The stock is in very good condition with well-defined finger grooves. There are no inspector markings present. The hand guard is also World War I or earlier. The metal surfaces have some mild pitting especially below the wood line, the markings on the receiver are sharp and distinct. This rifle is equipped with a Marine Corps front sight blade and aperture. These parts have been on this weapon a very long time. A neat looking old veteran that has seen a lot of service use.
